Sunday 7th December
Read 3 John 13-14
“I have much to write to you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. 14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face.
Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name.” (NIVUK)
When we see news reports about terrible things that have happened in the church. Or we hear about discord and disharmony in our sister churches, it can be disheartening and we may well wonder if there is any light left in the church at all. Elijah felt this way. After Queen Jezebel threatened his life Elijah fled to the wilderness and begged God to take his life. Elijah felt like the only one who had not turned away from God, However God reminded him that there were 100 prophets who were ready to shine the light of God to Israel. Though we struggle to see light sometimes, God knows who His people are and you will find them in the darkness.
Do you struggle to see the light of others in the darkness? Pray that God may open your eyes to see the friends he has placed you with.
