Read 2 John 10-11
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.” (NIVUK)
In these verses, John seems to flip Jesus’ earlier instruction upside down. When the disciples went out two by two, Jesus told them to shake the dust from their feet when a town rejected their message. Here, John warns believers not even to welcome false teachers into their homes — to wipe their feet of them completely. If we know the truth and stay silent about false teaching, we risk sharing in its harm, as though we were complicit in it.
