Tuesday 23rd September
Read: Philemon 1:4-7
“I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5 because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. 6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.” (NIVUK)
Without practice or reinforcement, a skill or new idea can fade in a day. How often do we learn something new and then decide that we will put that into use later and never get around to it? It is the same with our faith. Paul thanked God for the love and faith that Philemon had, however for Philemon his faith was still becoming effective. It’s not enough to have faith; we need to put faith into action so that God is glorified. What skill might you need to sharpen today?
