Read 2 Timothy 3:16-17
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (NIVUK)
We will spend a few days pondering the richness of these most famous of words. Before we consider the detail we should reflect on the simpler, bigger picture. In the words of Peter Jensen, these words tell us that ‘the Scriptures are sufficient to enable us to know God, to be saved, to walk as He wishes us to walk, and to know what pleases Him.’ (The Revelation of God, p275).
There is nothing more needed. We don’t need to change anything in Scripture. We don’t need some continuous revelation from God in order to live in this world wisely and well. All that we need He has provided for us in His word. That is motivation enough to spend time there every day.
