“The elder,
To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth – and not I only, but also all who know the truth – 2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us for ever” (NIVUK)
What is truth? It’s a question that has rung through the ages since as long as Jesus was alive. John here starts his letter by grounding it firmly in Jesus. John says that he loves in the truth, and everyone who has come to know the truth loves this way. This truth is eternal and is part of us.
When you look at your life, how does it line up with the truth that lives within us?
