Sunday 15th June
Read Luke 9:34-36
“While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, ‘This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.’ 36 When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen.” (NIVUK)
The crowds asked who Jesus was. God provides the answer Himself. He is prophet, royal Son and Servant. He is the One who will both reign and rule through His word and suffer and die for others. It is remarkable that in three statements God can declare who He is.
What three statements would be made about you? Does God’s answer to the mystery of who Jesus is transform your life? It transformed Peter’s. Consider his exhortation to us.
“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.” (2 Peter 1:2-4) (NIVUK)
Knowledge of who Jesus is is transformational. Knowledge of His true glory allows us to participate in the divine nature! Let His goodness transform you.
