Read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (NIVUK)
So many seek God’s perfect will for their lives, striving for all that God has planned for them. Yet for those in Christ Jesus, from the moment of baptism through to their last breath, God’s will is clear and simple. Rejoice, pray and give thanks.
There are no gaps in Paul’s description of God’s will. It is perfectly complete. Always rejoice. Continually pray. In all circumstances give thanks. At the heart of the Christian life are thanksgiving, prayer and joy. Regardless of what else is going on, the greatness of the grace shown to us in Jesus overflows in this way.
