Sunday 29th December
Read 1 Peter 1:8-9
“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” (NIVUK)
Tim Keller made the compelling case that at the heart of the gospel is the simple truth that we are saved because we have put our trust in Jesus and find Him beautiful beyond all measure. Jesus is the focus of our devotion because we look at Him in wonder and awe and all other competing interests for our soul fade away. Vices and addictions conquered because Jesus is just that much more compelling.
Peter would agree.
