Wednesday 24th September
Read: Philemon 1:8-10
“Therefore, although in Christ I could be bold and order you to do what you ought to do, 9 yet I prefer to appeal to you on the basis of love. It is as none other than Paul – an old man and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus – 10 that I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.” (NIVUK)
Paul could easily use his influence here. He has the right and the authority, but he gives the choice to Philemon here. Philemon has a chance to start to put his Faith into action. A chance to show Jesus’ love and be an example to the church that meets in his house. We don’t know what Philemon chose to do. We, however, have the chance now to prove our faith through actions and show Jesus love. What’s one step you could take today to start this journey?
